Note:
Four of the sons of Luca Saponara emigrated to the United States. two were
renamed Saponaro by the Captain of the ships on which they traveled and two
remained Saponara. One Saponaro settled in Philadelphia to join his wife's
brothers, the other Saponaro, after a short stay in New York, settled in Boston.
The two Saponara brothers settled in New York but the writer has not, as yet,
been able to find a trace of them except for one 1922, City Directory record of
Dr. Anthony Saponara. Francesco's manifest information states that he
is joining brothers Vitale and Giuseppe. If the viewer can share
information about the two Saponara brothers who settled in New York, the writer
will be most appreciative.
